The Casals Forum

The Casals Forum, newly built by Kronberg Academy and scheduled to open in September 2022, offers exceptional acoustics, facilities and atmosphere for musicians and audiences alike.

The famous cellist and humanist Pablo Casals is the namesake of this forum, who was particularly committed to peace and freedom. "Music, this wonderful world language, should be a source of understanding among all people" - this deep conviction of Casals of the connection between art and humanity finds its expression in this forum.

Thus, the "International Piano Competition for Young Pianists Kronberg" is also intended to be a place of encounter and understanding, in addition to the idea of competition.

We as organizers "International Piano Competition Taunus e. V." are very pleased to be guests at the Casals Forum!

The premises

The competition will be held in the Carl Bechstein Hall (about 150 seats), and the winners' concert in the large Chamber Music Hall (about 550 seats).

Both halls meet the highest acoustic and musical standards.

Participants also have access to four recording rooms with grand pianos very close to the Carl Bechstein Hall.

The instruments

On stage, participants in both halls will have access to an outstanding new Bechstein D 282 concert grand piano. Both grand pianos were selected by renowned pianists from Kronberg Academy to suit the acoustics and size of the hall.

There are 2 Bechstein B 212 and 2 Bechstein Academy grand pianos available in the four performance rooms.
