The 1st International Piano Competition for Young Pianists Kronberg 2023

A piano competition full of success!

Three days of piano music at the highest level, three days of eager anticipation of the young pianists, three days full of joy of playing, liveliness and imagination - even six months after the first edition of our "International Piano Competition for Young Pianists Kronberg" we are still overwhelmed by its success!

In the meantime, we have not rested and are now very pleased to present you an exciting trailer of the award winners' concert, press reviews, feedback from our young pianists together with many videos, photos and reports at https://piano-competition-kronberg.de/.

Young talent takes center stage

We started the first edition of our competition with high hopes and we are happy and grateful that these hopes for a successful and inspiring competition were even exceeded!

Each and every one of the young pianists amazed the numerous audience with their playing, which brought a concert atmosphere into the Carl-Bechstein-Saal with strong applause before and after the performances and listened to the performances as quiet as a mouse and concentrated.

The jury was also impressed by the high level of play of the participants and awarded several prizes, especially in the younger age groups.

In the very positive feedback we received from the young artists and their families, but also from the audience, the most important things mentioned were the constructive personal discussions of the jury with the participants, the excellent organization, the social program, a very personal and cordial communication, and overall a very positive, supportive and almost family atmosphere.

Our declared goal was to combine professionalism and cordiality, excellent conditions and optimal support. The competition was to be a meeting place for the young artists with plenty of opportunity for exchange, it was to promote their musical development, it was to remain in the special memory of all participants as a celebration of music.

That we succeeded is also thanks to Kronberg Academy, which provided us with these wonderful rooms and instruments and supported us so helpfully at all times in word and deed. Then there were the many volunteers who dedicated themselves with great commitment and cordiality to all the concerns of the participants and their families and made the social program offered a highlight.

We would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts the Rheinberger Foundation, the Feith Foundation, the Taunus Sparkasse, the Carl Bechstein Foundation, the Rotary Club Kronberg, CHOM Capital, the Naspa, the Mainova, the Bärenreiter-Verlag, ADMANUM and Prof. Dr. Gerhard Hücker, Hücker & Hücker, the practice Dr. Banach, Balancement and the Essig & Krahl KG! We are grateful that with their help we were able to hold this competition to promote very talented young pianists and our live-streamed prize winners' concert in the highly acclaimed Chamber Music Hall of the Casals Forum.

We owe the success of the competition also to the excellent cooperation of the four jury members Prof. Matthias Kirschnereit, Prof. Christian A. Pohl, Prof. Claudia Schellenberger and Ulrike Danne-Feldmann, who made their decisions in the advisory rounds with a lot of heart, commitment and appreciation and took a lot of time to talk to the young artists. And last but not least, our esteemed donors, without whom this competition could not have taken place!

We wholeheartedly congratulate all the winners and participants of the competition for their success and great play and look forward to the next edition of the competition in March 2025!
