Carl Bechstein Foundation supports our piano competition
We are happy and very proud to be supported by the best! The International Piano Competition for Young Pianists Kronberg is sponsored by the Carl Bechstein Foundation.
This partner is of great importance to us, because Carl Bechstein is making two of its outstanding D 282 concert grand pianos available to our young pianists at the competition, among other things! From March 31 to April 1, 2023, colorful worlds of sound and the inimitable singing tone that characterizes these instruments will resound in the Casals Forum of the Kronberg Academy.
Pianists like Ashkenazy, Rubinstein and many others especially loved the incomparable colorfulness of Bechstein's concert grand pianos.
These top-class concert grand pianos delight pianists and audiences worldwide. Artur Schnabel raved:
"In all Bechstein instruments I have found the same inexhaustible richness, noble beauty and singing carrying capacity of tone, the adaptability to any kind of touch and technique, the same never-failing reliability united in unsurpassed measure. "
"My hands, my heart and my ears love Bechstein."
Jörg Demus
For a long time, more precisely since 1853, the year in which a young piano maker named Friedrich Wilhelm Carl Bechstein decided to establish his own workshop, his instruments have been making colors glow and sounds bloom under the hands of famous pianists. The company's success story survived the bad times after World War II, when factories were destroyed and materials were hard to come by. Bechstein did not let up in the search for a special beauty of sound, expressiveness and quality of their instruments.
We are very much looking forward to hearing and experiencing our young artists on these wonderful instruments! Together with the unique acoustics of the Casals Forum, it will be a special treat that we sincerely wish our young pianists!
