From America to South Korea - 37 countries
It's going to be exciting! With 204 registrations from 37 nations and around 50% international participation from all over the world, we are starting the digital preliminary round and are thrilled about the impressive response from far-away countries such as Japan, South Korea, India, Thailand, New Zealand, USA, Canada, South Africa and many more.
We warmly welcome you, dear registered pianists, to the digital preliminary round and keep our fingers crossed for each of you!
Our innovative concept with the seven age groups, the renowned venue, the prize money of over €30,000, numerous attractive special prizes and much more has encouraged young pianists from the following countries to apply:
Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova/Rep. Moldova, Mongolia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States.
EVALUATION OF THE DIGITAL PRELIMINARY ROUND
The jury of the digital preliminary round, consisting of Prof. Claudia Schellenberger from the Mainz University of Music, Prof. Christian A. Pohl from the Leipzig University of Music and our Artistic Director Ulrike Danne-Feldmann, is very much looking forward to enjoying the playing of our young talents over the next four weeks and evaluating it as transparently and fairly as possible.
Since only a maximum of 55 to 60 participants can be admitted due to the limited time available at auditions of 2.5 days as well as the increased consultation time required by the jury due to the high number of special prizes, this is a challenging task to which the jury devotes a great deal of time, love and passion.
She knows how much every applicant hopes to be admitted. She knows how much work goes into such a video recording and how many of the young talents deserve to be admitted! She also knows what a high standard there was at the first event in 2023 and how many very talented and outstanding players could not be admitted due to the limited time available, much to her regret. She knows how close some decisions were made.
CODE OF ETHICS OF THE JURY
DAY OF ADMISSION
On 08.02.2025, the day of admission, the names of the admitted participants will be published under "Schedule and results". To our great regret, many of the registered pianists will not be taking part. We as organizers are thrilled for you and thank you all for your playing, your passion and your commitment!
